Randy Robertson
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Randy Robertson is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Procyon Capital Management. With over three decades of top tier firm leadership experience across structured credit, whole loans, and securitized assets fixed income, he brings unmatched insight into complex collateral-based investment strategies.
Prior to founding Procyon, Randy spent century long tenors at both BlackRock, as MD and Head of Global Securitized Assets platform overseeing $84 billion in assets, including the firm's $2B PPIF, TALF funds, and custom mandates across RMBS, ABS, and CMBS platforms and at Wachovia Capital Markets as MD and Head of Residential and Consumer Assets Trading and Banking and Co-Head of CDO's. Most recently as CIO and EVP at Movement Mortgage and SVP and Managing Director at Mr. Cooper Group, advising the Chairman and managing the firm's $800 billion MSR portfolio during the COVID-19 crisis.
Randy is known for his macro foresight, structured product innovation, and ability to lead high-performing teams across complex business cycles.
Joseph Piscina
Deputy Chief Investment Officer
Joseph Piscina brings over 30 years of structured credit and special situations experience. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Partner of The Versant Group and Head of Special Situations at Ellington Management Company.
Joseph held senior portfolio management roles at Five Mile Capital Partners and led asset trading and finance at Natixis and Paine Webber. His experience spans distressed credit, whole loan trading, and capital structuring across public and private markets.
He holds a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.A. from Columbia College.
Peter Leffler
Senior Portfolio Manager
Peter Leffler brings extensive experience across structured finance, private credit, and alternative investments. He oversees Procyon's strategy execution across securitized products and opportunistic lending.
Peter previously served on the investment team at Moore Capital, where he led strategy, investor relations, and product development for the firm's credit platform. At BlackRock, he led institutional private markets product development across credit, infrastructure, and real estate.
Peter began his career in Global Structured Finance at Merrill Lynch and has advised on over $80B in alternative investments throughout his career.
Sam Hassan
Senior Portfolio Manager
Sam Hassan is a veteran investment banker and private markets strategist with 25+ years of experience across capital structures and asset classes. Known for his ability to source and structure complex investments, Sam has led thousands of transactions globally.
He previously helped launch Liwa Capital's U.S. office, representing former Abu Dhabi sovereign leadership, and held senior investment roles at Pequot Capital, Fortress Investment Group, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.
Recognized as one of Trusted Insight's Top 30 Global Private Equity Investors in 2018, Sam is a University of Michigan graduate and serves on the advisory board of Immersion4.
Sayyid Ali
Chief Operating Officer
Sayyid Ali oversees platform operations, infrastructure development, and strategic execution across Procyon’s investment and origination ecosystem.
Previously, he was COO of Movement Asset Solutions, where he launched and scaled mortgage investment platforms and led regulatory and fund operations. At BlackRock, he served as COO of the $160B Global Securitized Assets platform and led firmwide initiatives across CMBS, RMBS, and CLO strategies.
Sayyid began his career in London at JPMorgan Asset Management and holds an MBA from Cardiff Business School and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Buckingham. He completed specialized studies in Alternative Investments at Harvard Business School.
Christopher John
Head Investment Banker
Christopher John is a versatile manager with proven abilities across all levels of organizational management. Talented in developing partnerships, overseeing personnel, and developing tactical plans to meet strategic goals.
Prior to becoming a Partner at Procyon, Chris was an original Partner at Phoenix Capital, Secondary Interactive, and Interactive/Incenter Mortgage Advisors “IMA”. Chris is a proven leader with a significant background in the trading and valuation of Mortgage Servicing Rights. He has over 30 years of experience which has enabled him to develop a diverse network of relationships in the mortgage servicing, banking and whole loan trading sectors of the mortgage industry.
Over the past thirty years, he has participated in the marketing/brokerage and sale of over $2 Trillion in outstanding principal balances of residential mortgage loan servicing and whole loan portfolios.
